Episode 7: Everybody likes pie

This week the gang returns - Brian Hogg (dotBoom), Stephen McCandless (CautionZero), Julie Daman and Sarah Atwood (Nontourage) talk about their shared travails in the independent production of serialized narratives for (teh) interwebs and the dream of Independent Television.

This week: 1) Nontourage vs. “weather” at SXSW, 2) the gang discusses recent news regarding SAG, AFTRA and the Interweb, 3) Brian explores the post-production process at CautionZero - not having learned his lesson last week, 4) SEO (and related acronyms) vs. the independent producer, 5) we discuss how much we love zeFrank, 6) and then shows we like - Nontourage picks Noodle Scar (www.noodlescar.com) and Mr. Deity (www.mrdeity.com), Stephen likes (www.makingfiends.com) and (www.theburg.tv) (pausing briefly as Stephen expresses a beautiful dream that Julie sets on fire), ending with Brian’s (www.inkisit.com), 7) and we’re out with a last flurry of confusion. Thanks so much for listening.

Episode 6: Background noise and foreground issues

This week Brian Hogg (dotBoom) joins Stephen McCandless (CautionZero) along with Julie Daman and Sarah Atwood (Nontourage) to make a hash of the weeks news while inadvertently affording you, gentle listener, some small insight into the neuroses that drive these creative types. Their shared dream: to be producers of Independent Television.

The weeks fodder:
1) Nontourage travels to SXSW, 2) Mr. dotBoom discusses the difficulty of being Canadian (again), 3) Stephen attempts to make the post-production process interesting (there’s a reason people don’t talk about it), 4) the “cockroach business model” of the Independent Producer, 5) Sarah defends the coming fracturing of popular culture, 6) then there’s a long digression about how much of Hollywood should be burned down - I think, on reflection, I lose this one, 7) Brian knows a great deal about online puppets, 8] the Twitter infection touches the Nontourage clan, 9) we attempt to nail down just how much clothing women should lounge around in (really), and 10) Brian becomes defensive one last time - double-phew!
