Episode 5

This week Boat to the Moon irregular Sarah Atwood joins Stephen McCandless and Julie Daman in a discussion of recent news impacting independent producers as they try to figure out how to sustain independent, scripted serialized shows - otherwise known as Independent Television.

This week we observe:
1) a memoriam on further Apple TV speculation, 2) IFC-distributed films up for sale on iTunes, the Oscars removing unauthorized online clips, 3) while The Colbert Report and The Daily Show do not, 4) Joost! aka streaming TV over the internet, 5) we talk about trying to sell scripted serials - cash up front please, 6) HDNET to the rescue?, 7) zero-day or day-and-date releases and independent production, 8) “What the Funny?” wrap party rumors, 9) using CustomFlix to produce on-demand DVD-Rs, 10) pro and con of DVD-Rs vs. DVD-5 or DVD-9, 11) HD adoption rates in America lags behind, 12) RIAA continues to spew nonsense in reference to Job’s “Thoughts on Music”, 13) dotBoom on BitTorrent!, 14) and we round it out with DRM / Vista tirades - phew!
